Kissed by the Baddest Bidder: Eisuke Ichinomiya S2 Twist of Fate Review

Story Basis:
After the events with Ozaki and Hishikura, you and Eisuke are enjoying your peaceful life together on your private island and are now closer than ever. But your life in paradise is short-lived when trouble is right around the corner.

You and the auction managers discover there's another auction going on in Dubai taking most of their customers. Not only that but locals are protesting against the presence of the Tres Spades Hotel in their country. On top of that, you get targeted for unknown reasons forcing Eisuke to take you back to Japan for your safety.

Will you stand to have Eisuke protect you all the time or will you do something to help him?

His Personality:
Eisuke is still possessive and demanding as always but also sweet and adoring of you at the same time. He's very much affectionate to you at every chance he gets, be it aggressive or subtle, you still fall hard for him every time. He still thinks your No. 1 priority should be him.  ~ Almost makes him seem needy but not too much. And it's not a problem for you.

He's more open with his love for your cooking, just not so much on the peas. 😆 So childish!

Either jealous or possessive (probably both), he doesn't like it when the guys get close to you, especially Hishikura. The guys don't miss a chance to tease you about it and they often get the evil eye from Eisuke.

He's still ambitious as ever and calculating with everything he does while throwing in the occasional subtle kindness to you. He goes undercover at the competitor's auction with you and bids $1 million on a necklace you happen to like while claiming he didn't do it for you but to find information. ~ Come on, Eisuke. We all know that's a lie. You're so sweet. 😊

However, he still has that habit of not telling you what's going on and tries to solve the problem himself. You do have some awareness of the problem that's going on but not the full details because he keeps you in the dark about certain things.  You end up having to find out from Baba.

For someone as ambitious as Eisuke, it can be misunderstood that all he cares about is the reputation of his hotel and profit. When it came to light that you're being targeted, he makes the hardest decision as the CEO to cease the operations of the hotel and takes you back to Japan. He'd rather be labelled as someone who 'ran away' to protect you.

He decides everything without consulting you and it bothers you that he can't rely on you and you can't be independent. In his perspective, he only wants to do what every man would do and protect their girlfriend.

***Be warned for any spoilers***

Overall Opinion:
This story is basically a continuation of the previous one, the plothole with the bombing incident is finally addressed and the mystery behind it builds on. Plotwise, I feel like the writers took the right direction to add more action and drama to it. The suspense and plot twist gets you excited.

Eisuke's biological father gets mentioned for the first time since Season 1. But we don't get much development on his disappearance rather just a tease getting us ready to uncover the mystery in future releases. ~ More on that another time.

As much as I loved Eisuke, it bothered me how he reverted back to his old habit from Season 1. He doesn't tell the MC what's going on and says that her knowing won't change the situation. ~ Um... that may be true but I'm entitled to know what the hell's going on when my life's being targeted.  It just seems like he doesn't believe she can handle the problems thrown at him. He can argue that he wants to keep her safe and protected but it just feels like he's babying her a lot.

Another habit I've noticed about Eisuke (in later seasons as well) is how he uses sex as a distraction to keep the MC from figuring things out. This is the go-to move he uses on her all the time and I didn't realise it started here. ~ More on that in my general opinion.

What I really liked is how the MC doesn't sit back and let Eisuke try to solve everything on his own. The more he doesn't tell her anything, it pushes her to go find out on her own; the explanation behind the card and the reason they came back to Japan.

She's trying to be more independent and doesn't want him to shoulder the burden of protecting his hotel and her as well. She wants to have at least some control over her life.

When the MC confronts him about her feeling, he finally realizes how he's been treating her. As affectionate and caring as he is, he realizes she doesn't just want to be seen kept behind protected glass and wants to stand alongside him as his girlfriend worthy of him. She's proven herself to his repeated statement of her being different to all the women he's been with that she really can handle any problem with him.

He starts to have faith in her a little more and believes she's capable of handling any problem thrown at them because she's 'special' or his 'girlfriend'.  He acknowledges her strength and will to become worthy of him but is reluctant at first to let her in on the action because he worries about her life being put at risk.

One thing that isn't clear about this story is how Hiskikura became a part of the auction managers all of a sudden. It was never explained in this story or in the previous so it's kind of like... What? How did this happen?

Since the last story, Hishikura's romantic interest in the MC has sort of died down (probably because he knows to back off on another man's girlfriend) after she rejected him. He's on friendly terms with her and the other auction managers. He also joins Baba and Ota in teasing you and it sparks jealousy in Eisuke.

Remember in my last review about Hikaru?

Yep, it's confirmed that he's a little sketchy. He doesn't appear much but when he does you can't shake that feeling that he's not all that he seems.  Especially in this scene.

Overall, I really enjoyed the plot and the development of their relationship. They've grown to have faith in each other. The MC makes sure her feelings are heard and Eisuke learns to have faith in her.
If you enjoyed his previous story and love a little bit of action, I would definitely recommend this story. Happy playing!

Overall Score: 7/10

You are welcome to read my review on his overall personality and his character development from my general opinion post. I will also post reviews on his other stories.
