Kissed by the Baddest Bidder: Eisuke Ichinomiya Sequel Review

Story Basis:
It's been a month since you and Eisuke started dating. Happy as you are, you can't help but worry and wish for him to stop holding the auctions. However, Eisuke won't stop until he finds his sister through his underground system (I don't know how this works but okay).

At the auctions, you noticed a man without a mask talking to other guests. The auction managers bring the man up to the penthouse where he explains he's searching for his fiancée's older brother so he can invite him to their wedding. The older brother the man is looking for turns out to be Eisuke!

A few days later, you return a pearl necklace to a woman staying at the hotel. You suspect her to be Eisuke's sister when you realise her fiancée is the man without the mask. Eisuke refuses to go meet the sister he's been longing to reunite with after you tell him and it confuses you.

A few days later, you find out why.

***Be warned for any spoilers***

His Personality:
Eisuke is still cold and bossy in general but he does treat you well. You don't live with him in the penthouse anymore but you stay over some night. Nights where you need to go home before getting up for work the next day, he actually prefers you to stay (more like demands you to stay). ~ I take that as a sign he doesn’t want to part with you.

His tendency to not be honest about his feeling remain the same because he’s used to keeping them to himself. He's happy to have finally found his sister but can't come out and be open with it because he doesn't have good relations with her soon-to-be father-in-law. He didn’t want to put her in a difficult position so he pushed her away.

Harsh as it may be, it shows he does care about others (particularly those closest to him) and he only wants what’s best for them. Even if he gets hurt himself and knows he may never see her again (now that he knows she's going to be fine with her new husband).

When you talk to him about his sister, Eisuke remains cold and tries to shut down the conversation. Probably to hide how he actually feels about never seeing his sister again. He claims it doesn't matter whether she's in his life or not because he's been separated from her for a long time. (So he probably thinks he's used to it).

When he claims people who leave him just aren't meant to be with him, it shows how little expectations he has on people not leaving him. So when people leave him, he doesn't chase off them because he doesn't need them. The way he says it makes you believe you have different values to him.

Eisuke hasn't tapped into the habit of confining his issues with the MC. He believes he can solve his own problems. (I've noticed it's a pattern for most of the Voltage Inc. games, the characters don't share their problems with each other in the sequels). And it puts up a wall between him and you.

Overall Opinion:
In the early stage of their relationship, the MC and Eisuke's feelings for each other don't change but it's obvious they are in love. Neither is there much change in his personality. In the sequel, we get a little more insight on Eisuke as a person and while he doesn't change much from the main story (of course, they've only been dating for a month), we get to see how he thinks.

In his sequel, Eisuke doesn't tell the MC much of what he's doing but he does tell her what he feels most of the time when she pushes his buttons. She gets him to talk about his feelings even if it's a warped interpretation.

Eisuke's interpretation of all the people closest to him leaving him unintentionally is a little sad. Growing up in a full family with both parents and little sister until one day his father's company went bankrupt. His mother dies from an illness and his father suddenly disappears. He gets separated from his sister and he ends up going to the states. Everything bad in his childhood hit him all at once, so it's kind of understandable how he interpreted his abandonment.

I liked how the MC knows she has to respect his boundaries but knows not to leave him wrapped in his own interpretations and hurt himself by it. She knows they are different in every aspect and tries to close their distance by supporting him emotionally and get him to see it in a different light.

While his communication skills and honesty is lacking, Eisuke's relationship with the MC has improved just a little. Before he wouldn't care for her opinions, especially when picking out her clothes. He would order her to try on every dress he picked out and make mean comments to each one. This time he hears her opinions even when he feels annoyed.

He's also mellowed out on being bossy. Instead of deciding on their date from start to finish. He's willing to do anything she wants.

The others have also noticed a change in his behaviour as well. Especially when it comes to the MC.

And when the MC got in trouble.

Though he's still arrogant and thinks the MC's top priority should be him. And it's exactly what she does. He probably thinks he's finally found a girl who's giving him attention for the right reasons. Not for his money but actually loves him.

If you enjoyed his main story, you will enjoy this one because you get to see him blush for the first time. For those who are not sure, I do recommend giving him a chance to see a little bit of development from him. It's still your choice if you don't want to. Happy playing!

                                                                      Overall score: 6/10

You are welcome to read my review on his overall personality and his character development from my general opinion post. I will also post reviews on his other stories. \Stay tuned for updates.
